Hold the Line for Zak
Badge #71. Firefighter. Paramedic. Leader. Teammate.
Zak Martinez has proudly served as a sworn full-time member of the Elburn & Countryside Fire Protection District for the past two years, with six total years in the fire service.
A member of the department’s Fire Investigation Team and co-leader of the BOF Academy, Zak helps train the next generation of firefighters through the district’s 12-week academy program. He doesn’t just answer calls, he builds the future of the fire service.
Recently, at just 24 years old and newly married, Zak received news no one expects to hear - a diagnosis of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He is currently undergoing treatment while staying focused on the fight ahead.
When one of our own faces a fight light this, we stand with him.
"Local #4749 Will Hold the Line" Fundraiser
The "Local #4749 Will Hold the Line" Collection was created to support Zak and his family during this battle. Every shirt purchased is more than apparel. It's a statement of solidarity and direct support for a firefighter who has dedicated his career to protecting others. For every shirt sold, $15.50 is donated directly to Local #4749 to support Zak and his family. Together, we hold the line.
